OUR MODERNIST DESIGN CONTINUUM
Revisiting Architecture is not a nostalgic look back, but a reflection on continuity — a way of engaging with architectural heritage as an active, living influence. Through this dialogue, we affirm values of clarity, collaboration, and human warmth as principles that continue to shape how we think, design, and work today.
Thoughtful design and precision craftsmanship, all under one roof. At Prostoria, we oversee every step of furniture creation—from design to production. This allows us to maintain an exceptional level of quality, ensuring that every piece is crafted with care and attention to detail. For architects, this means reliable timelines, seamless communication, and a trusted partner who understands the unique demands of hospitality projects.
Polygon emerged at a moment when Prostoria was defining its identity beyond function, seeking a clearer design language rooted in structure, comfort, and cultural continuity. Reflecting the brand’s early spirit of research and openness to new forms, the chair questions conventions and expands the language of upholstered furniture.
Stefano Colli is an architect, designer, teacher, interior designer, and collector deeply committed to circular design and material culture. As the founder and curator of Good Goods — a virtual gallery dedicated to modern design and contemporary authors — he explores the emotional and cultural depth of objects beyond trend and market value.
Monk was conceived within a broader architectural vision for Hotel Dubrovnik Palace. In 2013, following their acclaimed work on Design Hotel Lone in Rovinj, studio 3LHD approached the redesign of the hotel’s rooms and restaurant as an opportunity to articulate a distinct identity shaped by context rather than simply update the interior. Furniture was understood as part of that architectural whole.
Within this framework, Monk took shape as a bespoke chair, conceived by studio Grupa and brought into being through Prostoria’s product development and production. Informed by the region’s modernist heritage, its design favoured structural clarity and restraint over stylistic expression, aligning naturally with the architectural logic of the space.
While designing the luxury Mulini Beach in Rovinj, the architectural studio 3LHD developed a distinctive piece of outdoor furniture, conceived specifically for the project’s spatial and atmospheric context. Recognizing its broader potential, 3LHD approached Prostoria with the idea of evolving the initial design into a complete outdoor collection and bringing it into production. It was only through this process—when the architectural concept, developed in close collaboration with Prostoria’s R&D team, grew into a coherent family of furniture—that the collection received its name: Umomoku, preserving its original character while expanding its possibilities across different settings.

We launched the photographic project Revisiting Architecture in 2020 to explore one of our key sources of inspiration — Zagreb’s modernist heritage. For us at Prostoria, modernism is not a style tied to a specific historical period, but a cultural foundation: a way of thinking about design as rational, honest, and human-centered. Modernist values of proportion, clarity, and optimism continue to shape everything we create. Revisiting Architecture is part of Prostoria’s communication trilogy — alongside Revisiting Analogue and Revisiting Factory — which addresses the key themes central to Prostoria’s identity and values.
In Prostoria’s new film House Le, designer Martin Pohl invites us into two closely connected spaces: his own home just outside Zagreb, and House Le — an interior design project shaped by the rhythms of everyday life. Moving between the personal and the professional, the film reveals how interiors emerge through comfort, contrast, and lived experience rather than rigid stylistic rules.
Nestled in the deepest and quietest part of a bay on Palmižana, Zori Timeless Hotel is conceived as a secluded island retreat - a place for contemplation and slowing down.
Designed by Split-based architects Zrinka and Vatroslav Visković, the project takes the form of a stone podium rising from the sea, an anchoring base that frames a Mediterranean garden and commands the bay. Within this garden lie four residential units, built from Hvar’s red soil and intentionally designed to almost disappear into the intense colours of the soil, vegetation, and stone. The architecture is emotional and insular, at once primitive and mystical - corporeal, Mediterranean, unmistakably Hvar-like.
